Stanford women's soccer player Katie Meyer dies at 22.

Katie Meyer was the captain and goalkeeper of the Stanford University women's soccer team.

The cause of death has yet to be determined. On Monday, Stanford reported the death of a student in one of its residence halls.

There are no words to express the deep sadness we feel about Katie Meyer's passing. Katie was an outstanding student-athlete and a beloved, passionate leader here at Stanford. Our entire athletics community is heartbroken and Katie will be deeply missed.
